SO, WHAT IS SALVATION?

Salvation means saved from danger. What dangers are we facing as men and nations? We are up against a three-fold enemy. They are the sin that lurks from within, the demonic realm, and a godless world system.

Salvation is a free gift from God that defeats this three-fold enemy and sets the captives free. It was bought and paid for when Jesus gave His life on the cross and was raised from the dead. God's salvation restores us to a right relationship with God that sin ruined.

LET'S BREAK IT DOWN

These days, it seems like bad news is everywhere. We are all feeling the pressure and dealing with a lot of stress from within and without. It’s easy for our hearts to grow cold and for us to disconnect from each other.

So, is there any hope? Absolutely! But to really find it, we need to dig deeper and get to the root of what’s troubling us. Just like doctors need to find the right diagnosis to treat an illness, we need to understand what’s going wrong inside us to find true healing.

Here’s the thing: fixing external problems doesn't solve our internal struggles. Whether it’s religion, philosophy, or even science, these are just temporary fixes that treat symptoms, but never get to the root of what ails us. Our real issue lies within us, and no amount of changing our surroundings brings the lasting change we all need.

Many people try to cope with their struggles through things like alcohol, drugs, sexual encounters, or other distractions. These methods might numb the pain for a season, but they don’t address the real issues, the confusion, strife, contention, and woe we suffer. The Apostle Paul described our situation quite well when he said, “For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice” (Romans 7:19).

So, what’s the solution? The good news is that there is one. It’s not about changing everything around us but changing what’s inside us. The answer lies with Jesus, “The Great Physician.” Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted, set at liberty those who are bruised by life, and not only forgive our sins, but set us free from its power to destroy our lives (Luke 4:18-19).

All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and admitting this can be tough. It takes humility and courage. But remember, God gives grace to the humble, but resists the proud (James 4:6). Jesus commands us to repent, which means to turn away from our old ways and embrace a new path in Him. Through this repentance and saving faith, we can find true healing and transformation.

Jesus offers a fresh start and a new life. If you’re lost or burdened, know that you don’t have to stay that way. By calling on Jesus, repenting of your sin, putting your faith in Christ, and receive the transforming power of the Holy Spirit to regenerate your life, you can experience the salvation of Almighty God.

LET'S GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING

It's crucial to understand the history of our fall, why humanity is in a state of brokenness, and why we desperately need Jesus.

In The Beginning

The Result Of Sin And Gods Solution

Salvation

God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1 and 2 describe this glorious creation in detail. God crafted the first man from dust, breathed into his nostrils, and man became a living soul.

"Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the earth and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being." (Genesis 2:7)

Adam and Eve's act of disobeying God in the garden separated us from Him. We became spiritually dead and unable to save ourselves. Sin, death, hell, and the grave came in the awful wake of this Fall. The alienation and isolation we experience by sin can only be restored to a right relationship with God through the merits of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

When the first souls got birthed into the Kingdom and added to the church, they asked this important question, "What must we do to be saved?" God's answer, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

Call upon the name of the Lord, repent of your sin, place your faith in Christ, and God promises He will save your soul. Today can be the day of your salvation.

PASTOR RUSTY'S PERSONAL STORY OF SALVATION

BAPTISM?

Our first act of obedience after God has saved is to partake of one of the sacraments of the church, which is baptism. In salvation, Jesus identifies with us. In water baptism, believers publicly identify with Christ.

Water baptism is a beautiful picture of what our Lord has done for us in transforming our lives. As we are completely immersed in the water, we identify with Christ's crucifixion and His death in the tomb. When we are raised out of the water, we are raised to newness of  life in Christ. He is the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25). Glory to God!
